Wardrobe care log — decode labels, log repairs, keep the clothes you love longer

ZIP · 24 KB · free

What you get

A 21-column log plus a skill for the clothes you intend to keep: describe a care label and it comes back in plain words, tell it about an item or a repair and it writes the row, ask what to check before a wash and you get a checklist based on the fabric and the label, and once a season it reads the log back — what you have not worn, what needs a stitch, what each piece has cost per wear so far. It asks about the fabric before advising and never claims a brand is durable, sustainable or ethical. Runs in Claude, ChatGPT, Gemini, Claude Code and Google Sheets.

Use it for

  • Decode a care label from the symbols you see into plain washing, drying and ironing instructions
  • Log an item or a repair and keep a running cost per wear
  • Get a checklist of what to do before a wash, based on the fabric and the label
  • Run a seasonal wardrobe review: not worn since, needs a repair, keep / repair / alter / pass on

  3. Paste the Decode prompt from PROMPTS.md with the symbols on a care label and the fabric.

Preview — one prompt from the kit

Here is the care label on my {{item}}. Fabric: {{fabric}}. Symbols or words on the label: {{label}}

Decode it symbol by symbol into plain sentences: how to wash (machine or hand, maximum temperature, cycle), bleach or not, how to dry (tumble and heat, flat, line, shade), how to iron (heat, steam), and whether it should go to a professional cleaner. Then give me a two-line summary of what I should actually do at home. If a symbol I described could mean two things or you cannot place it, say "TBC — check the label" and tell me what to look for. Do not guess from the fabric alone if the label says otherwise. Finish with the decoded label as one line, symbols separated by semicolons, so I can paste it into my log.
